The Dharmawangsa Jakarta, a prestigious boutique hotel in South Jakarta, now offers a special program to meet the needs for a perfect luxury wedding: The Dharmawangsa House. Indonesia Design talked to Novi Samodro, the general manager of The Dharmawangsa Jakarta, about the new program.
Located in an upmarket, leafy area of Kebayoran Baru, The Dharmawangsa Jakarta offers a homely atmosphere, hidden from the hustle and bustle of the city. The spacious venue is more than sufficient to hold a wedding reception with up to 2,000 guests. Their new wedding program, The Dharmawangsa House, allows half or more of the hotel’s 99 rooms and suites to be occupied by the bride and groom, their families and guests.
Every couple wants their wedding to be special and memorable. But there are a lot of factors that can make or break a wedding. More and more couples are looking for a unique concept or location for their wedding—maybe in a national park, a museum or even underwater. The Dharmawangsa House has taken its inspiration from the majestic castle weddings that have been trending amongst world-class celebrities.
Just like having a wedding at home, all areas of the hotel are available for the event. The difference is the future Mr. and Mrs. and their families can relax because everything is taken care of by the hotel’s team. Nonetheless, the couple is the one with the final say, including in deciding things like the wedding theme and which room to use for the main event. High flexibility comes with the package.
Three possible areas for the main event are the Nusantara Ballroom, The Courtyard and the pool side, with the Majapahit Lounges, comprising The Library, Caviar Lounge, The Bar and Tea Lounge catering for the fringe events. Designed in a beautiful classical Javanese style mixed with a Dutch colonial influence, the hotel doesn’t need a lot of special wedding decorations but is happy, for example, to help create a special wedding theme. For further convenience, airport and city transfers for the bride and groom as well as the guests are available upon request.
Booking a whole hotel for a wedding may not be something new. But thus far, The Dharmawangsa House is the first wedding programme in Indonesia which hosts the whole event within the hotel for such a large number of guests. And with so many tailor-made possibilities, it will definitely be very special and memorable.
