Nestled right on the side of Nusa Dua’s calm coastlines, the fully revamped Ikan, a signature restaurant at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali, has become a must-visit destination for seafood enthusiasts and those craving Indonesian-inspired dishes. The restaurant and bar are an exciting addition to the upscale neighbourhood, offering something new and fresh to the culinary scene.

The open-air Ikan is easy to spot, with its locally- inspired design elements, thatched roofing, and tactile beach-style furniture presenting a cosy and breezy atmosphere. Guests can dine while enjoying direct views and access to the pristine white sand beach. This beachfront restaurant serves fresh seafood and Indonesian- inspired cuisine, offering two distinct experiences during the day and night—a casual eatery by day and an elevated dining destination by night.
Upon arriving at Ikan, guests can enjoy a drink or two at the beachside seating before moving to the main restaurant to dine or simply sit at wicker-back bar stools and a turquoise- clad island counter at the Ikan Bar. There are plenty of seating options at this restaurant. Ikan also features an air-conditioned private dining area accommodating 20 guests, a hexagonal semi-private dining room for groups, and five individual beach nests for a more intimate and romantic vibe. Convenient long tables, sofas, and the overall ambiance invite guests to linger and chat after their feast, while couples may find the five individual beach tables perfect for their romantic dinners.
Ikan’s menu reflects local produce blended with Indonesia’s rich dishes. With the collaboration of Marlon Hermanto, The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali’s Beverage Manager, the menu pairs well with creative artisanal house-made infusion cocktails.
At Ikan, it’s best to share dishes with the table so guests can taste everything on the menu. Guests can try everything from the small bites and tapas to the mains and desserts. Many Ikan guests follow the recommendation during lunch by ordering arrays of dishes to share on the table. Cingklak is a recommended menu at Ikan, a unique sharing platter inspired by the traditional Indonesian wooden playing board, where various appetizers are served. Cingklak comprises Lombok oyster crisp, mini fish Balinese sate lilit with sambal matah, perkedel jagung with whipped tofu mayo, crab spring roll with belimbing wuluh salsa, chicken and beef satays – a taste of Indonesia in one platter. A slow-cooked ayam upih betutu and a Jimbaran-styled, freshly-caught ikan bakar served with sayur urap vegetable and sambals are guests’ favourites here at the restaurant.
Guests are recommended to savor their meals with the signature craft cocktails of Ikan Bar, such as Gunung Agung, a homage to the island’s mighty volcano, made with Nusa Cana Rum, Falernum, and Roselle soda.
The Italian Job – a concoction made of house-made limoncello, Prosecco, green apple soda, and dill – is another cocktail to try, along with the bar’s excellent selection of craft beers, premium gins, araks, and artisanal spirits.
The recent revamp sets a new standard for Nusa Dua’s venues. Ikan Restaurant & Bar at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali, has become a destination where guests can spend a day relaxing with friends and family. With its chill vibes, beautiful view of the ocean, and fresh and authentic cuisine, it’s easy to see why.
