The Embassy of Colombia held a luncheon to celebrate the annual International Women’s Day on 9 March 2023 at Knightsbridge, The Langham Jakarta. Around 30 Indonesian women from different professional backgrounds were invited including our editor-in-chief, Lina Gan.

The event started with a welcome remark from Tatiana Rrodriguez Espinosa, charge d’affaires of Embassy of Colombia to Indonesia, followed with a taped speech from Laura Gil, the deputy minister of multilateral affairs of Colombia. Then friendly conversation rolled in amongst all the guests and hosts over a hearty three-course lunch of two set options. The set we chose was: home cured Tasmanian salmon, Australian wagyu cheeks, and black forest.

It was empowering to be in the same room with all these high-achieving women. From blood donation founder to high-ranking banker, these women fought hard to reach where they are now. And we brought home not only spirit to keep fighting, but also a super handy coffee set with two kinds of Colombian coffee.
