Contemporary art festival ARTJOG is back! It will be held from 28 June until 1 September 2024 in Jogja National Museum, Yogyakarta. The theme “Motive: Forecast” (“Motif: Ramalan”) refers to dissecting the constraints of time, space, and the connection between them in an effort to comprehend an event.
The exhibition will display artworks from 48 adult artists from Indonesia and other countries, as well as 36 children and teenage artists. The theme is curated by ARTJOG’s curatorial team and a guest curator Hendro Wiyanto from Jakarta. This year’s commissioned artists are Agus Suwage and Titarubi.
ARTJOG is not only about visual art. Dancer Rianto and musician Risky Summerbee & The Honeythief will perform along with 57 other performing artists to present the ideas and concept in the program called performa•ARTJOG x Bakti Budaya Djarum Foundation.
As a continuation of an inclusivity program that they started in 2022, ARTJOG will launch a new program in collaboration with Disability Service Center or Pusat Layanan Disabilitas (PLD) titled “Love ARTJOG”. This program allows the disabled to participate in several programs including the exhibition, exhibition tour, and performances.
During the festival there will also be supporting programs such as Young Artist Award, ARTJOG Kids, performa•ARTJOG, Exhibition Tour, Meet the Artist, Artcare, and Jogja Art Weeks. Meanwhile, this year’s Merchandise Project is a fresh collaboration with ONXIDEA Studio, KICKYOURBUTT Project, Blasu Studio, and Sweda.co.
