He has a background in category marketing, having served as senior manager for category marketing in the Asia Pacific region and as a category manager for Bosch Cooking in India. This article provides Indonesia Design with Anil Narula's insights into the brand partnership with Galleria.

How has the partnership between BOSCH and Galleria been so far?

Our partnership with Galleria is relatively new, with our first official Bosch brand store together opening in Cideng, Central Jakarta, in September 2025, followed by our second store in Bali in October 2025. Even in this short period, the collaboration has shown strong momentum.

Galleria is a respected name in Indonesia’s renovation ecosystem, known for curating leading sanitaryware and flooring brands and for earning deep trust from the interior design, architectural, and contractor communities. At the same time, Bosch brings to this partnership more than 135 years of German engineering heritage, a globally recognised reputation for precision, reliability, and innovation, and a rapidly expanding footprint in the Indonesian home appliances market.

How is the market for BOSCH in Indonesia and, particularly, in Surabaya?

Over the past few years, we’ve seen strong double-digit growth across several categories, driven by rising demand for premium built-in kitchens, healthier cooking technologies, and appliances that combine efficiency with design excellence. Indonesian consumers today are far more discerning, and they increasingly seek products that deliver both performance and long-term value.

Surabaya, in particular, has emerged as a very dynamic market for us. The city has a rapidly expanding base of premium homeowners, architects, and interior designers who place a high value on functionality, clean European aesthetics, and durable performance. We’ve seen that customers in Surabaya are very design-aware; they appreciate minimalist lines, seamless integration into modern kitchens, and technologies that enable healthier, more efficient cooking. This aligns perfectly with Bosch’s design philosophy: timeless, understated, and engineered for everyday life.

What’s especially encouraging is the engagement we see from Surabaya’s architect and designer community. They are increasingly specifying Bosch in renovation and new-build projects because of the trust in our quality, the consistency of our performance, and the reliability that comes from our German engineering roots. For them, Bosch is not just an appliance brand; it is a solution provider that helps elevate the overall kitchen experience for their clients.
