What’s the most common request from your client during pandemic?

During the pandemic, we designed several masterplans and public spaces. our recommendations related to the environment’s quality enhancement through design to the clients’ Tor (terms of reference). our clients wanted a combination of indoor and outdoor activities. The indoor activities made buildings to not only appear as a facade, but could also be enjoyed from within. We also discussed with clients how to do minimum intervention to the existing construction in order to respect the character of the space and to speed up activations.

What can we expect from the future and from the next architecture trend?

Architecture that prioritises the quality of life and the environment is not just as a trend, but as a collective consciousness. How architecture can sustain a longer durability; give comfort on any scale and function; increase physical and psychological health of the users; and how the building creates balance between nature and the environment.

How do you anticipate these trends?

We look at the existing potential to determine our design approach. Site-specific approach is needed to give a direction of the design. After that process, we take an integrated decision to determine the program, the space structure and organisation, the design theme and others.
