What were some common requests during the pandemic and post-pandemic?
Because we are in the product development and design business, many requests were to design something that could accommodate people’s change of behaviour, or habit, for post pandemic, both function-wise and aesthetic-wise.
How do you see future products or furniture trends?
Objects and furniture designs that can be optimised. For example, multifunctional objects and furniture, or efficient innovations with aesthetics that are easy to mix-n-match for the interior design.
How do you anticipate these trends?
The best way is through observation on behavioural changes that allows new possibilities in design. For example, Dadu UV Box for every collection. It’s a UV box combined with the function of a stool, which makes it easier to be arranged as part of an interior. Soy, also for every collection, is a rack with the basic idea of a tray that can be pulled off to carry and organise items and to give space for bigger or taller objects. Serasan is a writing desk I designed for Dio living. It is a compact desk with various storages, which supports the activities of working from home. Whereas Sanjo is a console table, where the display units and the trays are separate, designed for an easier way to move things or indoor plants.
