The Guinness Book of Records notes that the most expensive car ever purchased was a 1963 model Ferrari 250 GTO, bought by an anonymous private buyer from Paul Pappalardo, a Connecticut-based carcollector, for US$52 million. On film, expensive cars abound, especially with the large number of films depicting fast cars and racing plots, complete with their luxurious settings. Notable vehicles driven by the likes of Elvis Presley, Steve McQueen, and Nicolas Cage, are just several of the most coveted items wanted by private collectors around the world. Even more impressive is that the value of those cars multiplies significantly, compared with their original price, after appearing for just a few minutes on the silver screen.
