Here’s Looking at You, Casablanca

Morocco’s largest city Casablanca is located in the central-western part of the country and fronts the Atlantic Ocean. The city is a magnet for tourists seeking to explore the Moroccan architecture and culture surrounded by local and international restaurants and hotel chains such as Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca.

The hotel is nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the upscale Anfa neighbourhood and it‘s only 10 minutes away from the bustling city centre. The building itself was designed by Foster + Partners and features interiors by G.A Design.

Guests enter the hotel through an antique brass Moroccan door, and works by contemporary artists are on display throughout the hotel’s public spaces and guest rooms.

Corridors are built with Spanish oak panels and polished plaster walls. Meanwhile, beautiful ocean views seen from floor-to-ceiling windows are visible not far from the reception area.

Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca comprises of 185 rooms, three restaurants, a resort-like pool oasis and expansive event spaces. Both guest rooms and suites feature latest technologies and use as much natural light as possible. In suites, Zellige tiles add vibrancy into the room whilst in the royal suite there’s a double-sided fireplace in the spacious living area and 180-degree oceanfront views with spacious terrace.

The hotel’s spa Le Spa has a soothing natural palate of cedar wood, local stone and shimmering gold accents inspired by Morocco’s famous argan oil.

As for the culinary scene, there’s Mint, a tea lounge designed by G.A. Design. It has Bedouin-style bench seating, embroidered cushions from Fez and Berber carpets from Marrakech. There are also ceramic pieces displayed alongside traditional artefacts from the souks in the pastry and lobby areas. It’s a perfect place to unwind for hours with the sound of ocean waves in the background.

The hotel’s signature restaurant Bleu was designed by EDG and draws inspiration from Casablanca’s coastline. The coastal theme starts with Moss & Lam’s mural of ceramic mussel shells displayed along an arching wall that leads to the restaurant and it continues through flowing sculptural forms that look like seashells, coves and waves. The colour palette in this seafood restaurant is bright, boasting indoor and outdoor areas overlooking the ocean and an elliptical open cooking station where chefs prepare the freshest products for guests.
