The Dutch left behind many quaint colonial-style structures during their long reign in the archipelago. One of these heritage sites still stands proud in Solo, Central Java. Designed by Cuypers & Hulswit, the building is now used as the Office of the Solo branch of Bank Indonesia. It features le style empire characteristics, a style originating in the Neoclassicism movement that flourished in Europe during the 18th and 19th century.
