Antonio Blanco was born on 15 September 1911 in Manila, the Philippines. Born to parents who both originated from Spain, young Blanco began his academic life in the Asian country and here he also cultivated his interests in arts, literature and languages. After finishing his studies in Manila, Blanco continued his education in the National Academy of Art in New York where he honed his painting skills. The shape of a body, particularly the female body, was his favorite object to paint.
