In celebration of our 14th anniversary, we are extending our appreciation to those who have made significant contributions to the improvement of design in Indonesia by presenting Indonesia Design Best Design Awards. This is Unilever, a nominee in the Best Office Design category.
Designed by Aedas, the consumer good empire's office sees a modern architecture and interior style that allows for an agile work environment. Steven Shaw of Aedas Interior made room for lounges nearby the work stations to facilitate casual meeting and break-out sessions. In addition to the comfortable working areas, the office building also houses mall-grade facilities such as a fitness centre, beauty salon, spa, pharmacy, café, and more.
While Unilever strives to make sure employees enjoy their work environment, it is also a priority of theirs to instil the importance of reducing carbon footprint. Unilever headquarters' photogenic atrium is flooded with light in the day time and looks up six storeys high, with an organic garden on the ground floor. The office relies on eco-friendly design approaches and is located in BSD Green Office Park in Jakarta, the city's first green office district.
