Indonesia is a treasure throve of talents and that includes photographers from around the archipelago with a keen eye for detail . For those of you looking to be inspired, we've round out a list of Indonesian architectural photographers that should be on your watch list.

Fernando Gomulya

Fernando Gomulya is a professional Indonesian architectural photographer and has lent his photographic skill and style to well-known architecture and interior consultant firms and hotels across Indonesia and beyond.

Fernando’s passion for photography was ignited when he joined Perhimpunan Fotografi Tarumanagara (PFT) while studying architecture at Universitas Tarumanagara in Jakarta. His first foray into professional architectural photography started when he photographed a project for an apartment and a mall in Jakarta for an Indonesian design magazine in 2006.As an architecture graduate, Fernando utilises his background and knowledge into his photography in order to feature the best and unique facets of each project.

Mario Wibowo

Mario’s passion for photography and architecture brought him to the world of professional architectural photography. Majoring in architecture, he spent seven years in the industry, including a well-known architecture firm in Singapore.

From behind the lens, Mario helps clients to document their works, build social networks and retell their stories in a different platform. His work varies from wide shot angles capturing the mood of the built to tight shots focusing on details and structures.

To date, Mario has photographed more than 1000 architecture and interior projects, including hotels and resorts, malls, office towers, restaurants, high-end residences not only in Indonesia, but also in Singapore, Thailand, China, the Middle East, Italy and United Kingdom to name a few.

Mario developed the brand Mario Wibowo Photography (MWP) in 2012 and rebranded in 2020 to M W to include more photographers and expand its portfolio to videography and interior styling. Mario was awarded the title of Associate of The Royal Photographic Society from the United Kingdom and appointed as Leica Ambassador in Indonesia from 2018 to 2020.

Ricky Adrian

Kie is an Indonesian based photographer specialising in architecture, interior and commercial spaces. Kie studied Architecture at Universitas Parahyangan in his native city Bandung before working as a Physical Network Development Officer at one of the motorcycles main dealers in the country for over 13 years.

During those years, Kie found himself taking up offers to photograph pre-wedding, wedding, fashion, portraits and finally hooked into photographing architecture and interior. Kie became a professional architectural and interior photographer ever since.Kie believes that to best meet the client’s needs is through trust, empathy, having a common vision, good communication and mutual respect.

Rusdi Sanad

Rusdi Sanad has been a professional photographer since 2007. He is focusing the lens on commercial photography for corporate and architecture with speciality in resorts and hotels. He proved himself worthy of the #wisdom and #knowledge that he obtained from Multimedia University (MMU) in Malaysia. He took the chance and saw huge opportunities in hospitality as his hometown Bali was thriving with tourism.

As his portfolio grew bigger with time, Rusdi's experience and honed skill in photography had sharpened his instinct. His love for natural lights has given all of his shots the soul to the eyes who see them. The vibrant colors are captured in all of their glory, and that is what makes his photos special.Born and raised in #Bali, Rusdi lives and breathes by the #ancient#philosophy that sometimes people take for granted. He sees Bali as a #Balinese, as a place where he grew up and lives at present.

Antonius Widjaya

A passion in photography coupled with a degree in Interior Design led Antonius to fall in love with architectural & fine arts photography. Born and raised in Surabaya, East Java in 1984 and graduated from Petra Christian University, Antonius started his career as a 3D Visual Artist for architects and interior designers in Indonesia and USA.A frequent speaker at photography events, Antonius is also a print-maker specialising in creating giclee fine prints. Several of his works have been displayed at prestigious residential projects and hotels.

Antonius is a person who believes in never ending quest for perfection. For him, great art means hard work. As part of his self improvement, he likes to learn and find inspiration from books, roam into the same location many times, and spending hours shaping vision in every photograph. He also likes to take detail pictures of everyday objects because he thinks beauty is everywhere.

Chendra Cahyadi

Cahyadi's passion for design drove him to become an architectural photographer. Running his award winning branding and digital marketing agency, Chendra finds a pathway in the world of architectural and interior photography by meeting many big names in the industry, not only in Indonesia but also in Singapore and Japan.

His works include residentials, hotels, villas, resorts and skyscrapers.Based in two cities: Jakarta and Surabaya, Chendra seeks to understand the essence of each project and to translate the client's vision, spirit and goal into striking images.He is a patient observer whose photographs convey his understanding of architectural order and space. His attentiveness to geometry, light, colour and movement enables him to bring architecture to life not by standard rules, but by exploring his creative angles that are uniquely his. His works are regularly featured in corporate profiles, marketing materials, exhibitions, websites and international magazines as well as books on architecture and design.

Sefval Mogalana

Sefval Mogalana begins the journey to architecture and interior photography as a supplier for central vacuum system in Indonesia. A graduate from University of California at Davis with a degree in Biotechnology emphasizing in Fermentation and Microbiology. His passion in the world of photography has in fact started during college, focusing on travel and candid street photography.

The exposures to this world emerged from travel opportunities with Yori Antar and Rumah Asuh Foundation, documenting indigenous homes that need to be revitalized for future generations and his journey to architectural photography begun.To Sefval, architectural photography as a profession is a passionate project. An appreciative journey to the world of design, as polar opposite from the world of science and the respect that design begins from a blank canvas or autocad in this digital era.
