After graduating from Academy of Art University, San Francisco, California and working for fashion designer Adrian Gan for a few years, Bryna Ng finally challenged herself to create her own collection. It took about eight months for her to develop and perfect the collection under her own brand, RENKAI.

RENKAI Collection

On the evening of 13 March 2023, the entrance area of MACAN Museum was turned into a party venue for the launch of RENKAI. Nineteen out of almost 30 pieces of the collection were displayed there. They consist of ready-to-wear dresses, suites, coats, blouses, pants and skirts in monochromatic designs with a pop of colours that are easy to mix-n-match.

The collection is complemented with small bags in collaboration with Bagteria, the bag brand that Bryna’s mother, Nancy Go, founded. Meanwhile, the display stage was designed by Bluhands Creative, an interior design studio that Brenda Ng, Bryna’s sister, founded.

Renkai collaboration with Bagteria

The name Renkai itself is a portmanteau of her grandmother’s name, Rena Wu Tai, Nancy’s Chinese name Ren Ren, and Bryna’s Chinese name Kai Ling. The young designer respects her grandmother and mother so much for their strength, independence, grace and softness, that she dedicated her first collection to them.
