Already popular as a beachfront dining haven in Seminyak, SugarSand is revamping its offerings with a brand-new lunch, dinner, and cocktail menu.

Nestled in the vibrant Seminyak area, renowned for its breath- taking ocean vistas and lively ambiance, SugarSand is the distinguished restaurant of Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach. Recently, the establishment has unveiled an alluring new menu that showcases a harmonious blend of lunch, dinner, and cocktails. This beachfront dining haven harmonises the timeless allure of classic Japanese cuisine with a tantalizing infusion of Western flavours, all presented in the beloved Izakaya style.

The interior of the restaurant was designed by P49 Design, a Thailand-based company, and it showcases a captivating blend of artistic finesse and whimsical elements. The design takes inspiration from the vibrant tapestry of Balinese culture and the intricate details seen on the jukung, a traditional Balinese boat. Every corner of the restaurant tells its own unique story, creating an ambiance that effortlessly combines contemporary elegance with the understated simplicity synonymous with Japanese aesthetics.

SugarSand caters to discerning diners by offering two distinct levels of culinary experiences. On the first floor, guests can enjoy a tranquil escape with an inviting infinity pool and a communal area, where they can unwind while savouring the refreshing sea breezes. For those desiring a breath-taking panoramic view of the Indian Ocean, the second floor houses an open-air lounge, providing an idyllic setting for relaxation and hosting intimate gatherings.

Moreover, there is convenient car park access available for outside guests, allowing them to directly reach the restaurant without going through the hotel lobby. This feature ensures a seamless and convenient experience for visitors, providing easy access to the restaurant’s exquisite culinary offerings.

Indeed, the establishment is a haven for enthusiasts of fine food and drink, music, culture, relaxation, and celebration. During the day, guests can indulge in a variety of Japanese delicacies, such as Wagyu Gyoza, Chicken Katsu Sandwich, Tacos 3 Way, and a selection of sushi. As the sun sets, SugarSand transforms into a vibrant Izakaya concept, offering contemporary Japanese cuisine that includes standout dishes like Gindara Miso, Spicy Tuna Sushi, and the must-try Kiwami Wagyu Bollar Blade.

Leading the culinary team at SugarSand is Chef Syamsul Rizal, who brings his extensive culinary experience to curate a menu of modern Japanese dishes using locally sourced ingredients. The Chef honed his talents at renowned establishments like Nobu and joined SugarSand early last year after spending a significant portion of his career abroad. He has garnered valuable experience working in the kitchens of international cruise liners, prestigious hotel chains, and top restaurants across the United States, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, and Morocco. Notably, he takes pride in his tenure at the award-winning Nobu in Miami and Zuma in Dubai.

Complementing the culinary offerings, SugarSand boasts a team of innovative Balixologists, led by mixologist Dewa Ari, who craft an array of enticing cocktails. Guests have the opportunity to explore the “homage to Japanese cocktail culture” series, which showcases Japan-inspired cocktails, or choose from a selection of signature cocktails that have been enjoyed since the restaurant’s opening. No less exciting, SugarSand features Slow Cooked Infused G&Ts, adding a unique twist to the casual drinking experience.

The restaurant also features curated chill music from in-house DJs, creating the perfect atmosphere for socialising and mingling. With its beachfront setting, SugarSand aims to provide a haven where guests can enjoy fine food, drinks, music, culture, and celebrate beautiful moments.
