In 1995 the Danish soft rock band Michael Learns to Rock released their first single “Someday,” taken from their third album “Played on Pepper.” At that time, music lovers across South East Asia, including Indonesia, were once again smitten by the group’s romantic melody, lyrics and video clip which was shot on a pristine beach in Bali with limestone cliffs as the background. Now, approximately 15 years later the same rugged location in Pecatu area, Bali, still beholds a mesmerizing vista, so beautiful in fact, that it inspired someone to build a stunning private villa on a hilltop with traditional Balinese architecture that is applied in a modern way.

The area previously known as Dreamland Beach has now been given a new name, New Kuta Beach in Pecatu. Formerly famous as a nude beach and a surfer’s paradise, the area has now acquired a new identity as an upscale address with stunning views of the cliffs and beautiful azure beach. There is also a newly built waterpark and an expansive golf course that directly borders the sea. Sitting on one of the tallest hills on the way to New Kuta Beach is a private property called Villa Pecatu.
