The fashion industry is known for its dizzying, unrelenting flurry of trends that leave consumers often perplexed. Trends move more quickly than before; everything seems disposable and lacks longevity. Head of the house of Lanvin, Alber Elbaz, once said that, “Fashion is like a fruit, you couldn’t eat it a day before and you couldn’t eat it a the day after, it’s just about today.” In the same vein, Tom Ford, an American fashion designer, said that the rapid introduction of new trends is leaving consumers confused and sometimes it is easier, he said, to opt out altogether and live life in a nice pair of jeans.
