The Closing of ARTJOG 2023 and the Announcement of ARTJOG 2024

ARTJOG 2023 Motif: Lamaran had run for 2 months and came to its closing on 27 August 2023. The closing event started off with a remark from Heri Pemad as the director of ARTJOG, followed by a cultural oration by Goenawan Mohamad and a speech by Suwarno Wisetrotomo, a graphic artist and a professor at Indonesian Institute of the Arts, Yogyakarta. A few Indonesian performers hit the stage, such as Prince Husein, Kunto Aji and The Mayasona.

Heri Pemad

ARTJOG 2023 exhibited the artworks of 73 adult and child artists and featured various art experiences through live performances, live interactions with 15 artists, and weekly exhibition tour that also accommodated visitors with special needs. The art festival was committed to creating an inclusive art space by opening more access to children and the disabled through some of their programs. This year ARTJOG attracted more than 100,000 visitors, both from Indonesia and foreign countries.

Goenawan Mohamad

ARTJOG dedicates itself to the progress of art and culture. The annual event will be back next year from 28 June to 25 August 2024. It will keep supporting the spirit of collaboration and art exploration!
