The Fourth Dimension

I will begin this article by quoting a passage from the book “Space in Architecture” by Cornelis van de Ven. It refers to architecture maven Frank Lloyd Wright (FLW), who once advised us to start listening again to (老子) Lao Zi (570 - 470 BC). This is consistent with the content of his latest book, “A Testament,” especially in the eleventh chapter where we can find this notion, “The reality of a building does not consist in four walls and a roof, but in the space enclosed.” A similar idea by FLW can be seen in another one of his book “Organic Architecture” which states, “We were no longer tied to Greek space but were free to enter into the space of Einstein.” With this as a background, I would like to ask you, dear readers, to delve further into the eastern perception about design.
