Everywhere in the world, weaving is accepted as a symbol of living process. Look around. Trace back. Many Indonesians have been exposed to hand-weaved products from birth, when they are carried as babies in hand-woven baskets, and continue on until they pass away, when their body is eventually covered by the hand-woven blanket. In between life and death, we use it as furniture and wear it as our clothing. With its deep love and passion for weaving, BYO Living has reminded us how valuable weaving is to the Indonesian culture and its people’s consciousness.
