About the Awards
The Indonesia Design Awards (iD Awards) is a biennial programme organised by Indonesia Design magazine to recognise excellence in architecture and interior design across the archipelago.
The awards celebrate projects that demonstrate outstanding design thinking, innovation, and meaningful contributions to the built environment.
By highlighting exemplary works, the iD Awards aim to promote higher standards of design practice whilst inspiring future generations of architects and interior designers.
Through this initiative, the magazine seeks to strengthen dialogue between Indonesian design professionals and the international design community, whilst recognising the individuals and teams whose work shapes the spaces in which people live, work, and gather.

Eligibility
Projects must meet the following criteria to be considered for the iD Awards:
- The project must be located in Indonesia.
- The project must have been in operation for at least 6 months for Architecture categories, and maximum 5 years for Interior Design categories.
- Participants must complete the official registration and submission form provided by the committee
- Projects may be submitted by architects, interior designers, project teams, project owners, developers, and other professionals who have contributed to the project.
Submissions may be made directly by participants or through the awards’ network of professional nominators.
Judging Criteria
Projects submitted to the iD Awards will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
The overall design concept and space planning.
Creativity, originality, and the exploration of new approaches in architectural or interior design.
How the project responds to its site, surroundings, cultural context, and local environment.
Environmental responsibility through energy efficiency, sustainable materials, and ecological considerations.
The use of materials and craftsmanship to shape atmosphere, identity, and user experience
Key Dates 2026
Exhibition & Publication
Projects selected by the jury will be featured in a special edition of Indonesia Design magazine. The nominated projects will also be presented in a public exhibition at Ciputra Artpreneur, Jakarta, on 5–10 December 2026, allowing industry professionals and the public to explore the shortlisted projects before the final announcement of the winners.

Founder, Karim Rashid Inc.
Karim Rashid is one of the most prolific designers of his generation, with thousands of designs in production spanning product, furniture, lighting, and interior design. His work is featured in the permanent collections of museums worldwide, and he has been recognised with numerous international design awards.

Committee
Budi A. Sukada, IAI
Budi A.Sukada, IAI is a senior independent Indonesian practicing architect. He was born in 1951, graduated from the University of Indonesia, Jakarta in 1978 and the Graduate School of the Architectural Association, London in 1983. He was the President of Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) in 2002-2005 and 2005-2008 and continue to serve as a member of Board of Supervisor of the institution. He held a teaching position earlier at the University of Indonesia and still teaching at the University of Tarumanagara at present. His works include masterplan and common hall building of University of Indonesia (The Balairung) at Depok, West Java, and masterplan of Mandalika Resort at Lombok Island. He also won a competition on masterplan of Indonesian Christian University and assigned as a jury on other competitions. Most of his works at present are dealing with houses in preservation area in Jakarta.
Rachmad Widodo, IAI
Rachmad Widodo (Gapith) is a distinguished Indonesian architect and urban design professional with over 30 years of experience in architecture, urban planning, and the built environment. As Founder and Principal of EMWE Architect, he has led a diverse portfolio of projects across commercial, institutional, healthcare, and public sectors. Widely respected for his multidisciplinary expertise and long-standing contribution to the profession, he brings valuable insight and perspective to the Indonesia Design Awards jury.
Lea Aviliani Aziz, BFA, HDII
Lea Aziz is one of Indonesia’s leading interior designers, with nearly four decades of experience across hospitality, transportation, commercial, and public-sector projects. A former President of the Indonesia Society of Interior Designers (HDII) and President of the Asia Pacific Space Designers Association (APSDA), she has made significant contributions to the advancement of the profession both in Indonesia and across the Asia-Pacific region. Widely recognized for her expertise, Lea has served as a juror for numerous prestigious national and international design awards and competitions, bringing a broad perspective shaped by decades of practice, leadership, and industry engagement.
Diana Nazir, HDII
Diana Nazir is a distinguished Indonesian interior designer with over 30 years of experience in interior design, architecture, and the built environment. As Founder and Principal of PT. Artura Insanindo, she has led a diverse portfolio of projects across hospitality, transportation, commercial, and public-sector projects. Widely respected for her multidisciplinary expertise and long-standing contribution to the profession, she brings valuable insight and perspective to the Indonesia Design Awards jury.
Awards Ceremony
The inaugural Indonesia Design Awards 2026 will culminate in an Awards Night on 10 December 2026 in Ciputra Artpreneur, Jakarta.
On this evening, the international jury will announce the winners across multiple categories. The event will gather leading figures from architecture, interior design, property development, and the creative industries to celebrate excellence in Indonesian design.
About Indonesia Design
Indonesia Design (iD) is an English-language publication dedicated to architecture, interior design, art, and product design from Indonesia and the wider region.
For more than two decades, the magazine has documented the evolution of design culture in the archipelago whilst connecting local practices with international discourse. Through curated features, interviews, and project showcases, Indonesia Design highlights both established professionals and emerging talents shaping Indonesia’s built environment.
Since the pandemic, iD has been published three times annually, with each edition exploring themes that reflect current developments in design, architecture, sustainability, and lifestyle.
The magazine reaches a readership of approximately 40,000 professionals, including architects, developers, consultants, hospitality operators, academics, and design enthusiasts.
In addition to publishing, Indonesia Design actively supports the design community through exhibitions, talks, seminars, and industry gatherings that foster dialogue and collaboration within the creative sector.
Frequently Asked Questions
The iD Awards are open to architects, interior designers, project teams, and project owners in Indonesia who have completed projects within the eligible period. Both individual and team entries are accepted.
Participants must complete the official submission form provided by the committee, including details of the architect or designer, owner, project team, and other required information. Submissions may be made directly or through professional nominators.
The project must be located in Indonesia and must have been in operation for at least one year.
Awards registration runs from July to October 2026 with the submission deadline in October 2026. Please check the Key Dates section for the complete timeline.
An international jury panel of recognised practitioners evaluates all entries based on Design Achievement, Spatial Quality and Innovation, Contextual Response, Sustainability, and Social and Economic Impact.
Winners receive publication in Indonesia Design magazine, coverage on digital platforms, a trophy and recognition at the awards ceremony, and cash prizes.
