Alila Villas Uluwatu recently launched BATIQUE Whiskey & Cigar, an elegant new addition to its epicurean experiences. A cosy whisky bar that houses one of the most extensive collections of single malt whiskies in Bali, including some rarities that will tease the senses of whisky lovers.
BATIQUE offers a relaxed environment where you can unwind and socialise while sipping your favourite drinks and experience a specially curated Whisky Journey guided by their resident whisky sommelier. You can also opt for a range of original whisky-based cocktails, classic cocktails, spirits and wines. And a variety of fine cigars are available to complement the liquid treasures.
Living up to its name, the bar’s interior design celebrates local art and craftmanship. A display of almost 2,000 ‘batik cap’ (pronounced as chap) adorn the walls. Originally from Java, these are handmade copper stamps that are precisely cut, shaped and soldered into classic hand-drawn batik patterns and shapes.
The centrepiece of the lounge is a custom-designed U-shaped bar crafted by the local artisans. It’s surrounded by an eclectic mix of leather sofas and armchairs, bar stools and teak tables, also created by Balinese craftsmen, who have furnished many five-star hotels and resorts.
BATIQUE opens daily from 5pm till late. Its soft lighting and chill-out music creates a clubby and homy feel, perfect for enjoying conversation and appreciating the fine art of whisky.
