In two weeks’ time, Bali will welcome its first international art fair of its kind, as Art & Bali 2025 transforms Nuanu Creative City into a global stage for contemporary art. Running 12–14 September, with one day dedicated to VIP experiences, the inaugural edition brings together 18 galleries, 150+ artists, 50+ programmes, and landmark unveilings across three days of exhibitions, performances, talks, and the After Dark series as a celebration of art.
“Art & Bali is an invitation to connect, collaborate, and shape a growing art ecosystem in Bali, while building meaningful exchange between culture and commerce.” - Kelsang Dolma, Director, Art & Bali.
“Nuanu was built as a home for ideas and creative energy. Art & Bali brings that vision to life, welcoming the world to experience Bali as a place where art and culture can inspire real change.” - Lev Kroll, CEO, Nuanu Creative City.
This first edition will feature an international roster of exhibitors and artists from Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Spain. From Santrian Art Gallery, celebrated for its dialogue between Balinese tradition and bold contemporary practice, to the Asia Pacific Print Club, advancing printmaking across the region, and Feb Gallery Tokyo, known for cross-cultural experimentation. Other participants include Art Agenda, Bagia Art Space, Bill Mohdor Studio, CONNEC ART, Dalam Seniman, Kotak: Art Collective, LAKU Art Space, Lucy Dream Art, N-CAS ISI BALI, Purga Artspace, RUANG//, Spacecraft Gallery, Superlative Gallery, Umah Seni Shibum, and Waworuntu Gallery.
A monumental installation by Heri Dono, one of Indonesia’s most celebrated contemporary artists, will be unveiled in Bali for the first time, anchoring Art & Bali’s commitment to global dialogue rooted in Indonesian creativity.
The development of the Art Collectors Pass in collaboration with Nuanu Real Estate marks another significant milestone. Gifted to every Nuanu homeowner, the pass is fully funded by Nuanu and its partners and offers $2,000 in art credit, personalised advisory, and VIP access to major cultural events. Designed to introduce homeowners to art collecting and cultural patronage, it underscores Nuanu’s long-term vision of building an engaged cultural community.
The fair will also mark the unveiling of the second phase of the THK Tower, designed by Arthur Mamou-Mani in collaboration with Balinese artist Chiko. This cultural landmark pays tribute to the Balinese Tri Hita Karana philosophy of harmony between people, nature, and the divine. A custom web application will allow visitors to interact with the work, contributing their own expressions to the evolving piece.
Running alongside the fair is Terra Nexus, curated by Mona Liem, a Switzerland-based Indonesian curator and leading voice in new media. Featuring 30 artists from Indonesia and abroad, the exhibition explores the intersections of art, science, and the environment through immersive media, VR environments, and experimental works.
“If there is one thing I hope visitors will feel after experiencing Terra Nexus, it is novelty,” said Mona Liem. “For many of these artists, this is their first encounter with new media. It’s a laboratory for experimentation and a chance to see how traditional contemporary practices evolve within digital space.”
