AYANA Segara Bali is a new luxury hotel situated within the 90-hectare AYANA Estate at Jimbaran, Bali. Since welcoming its first guest last November, this art-and-design-focused hotel has become popular for laidback luxury offering a contemporary twist to the traditional Balinese experience.
The AYANA Segara Bali is a 197-room hotel which features an indoor- outdoor concept; that blends spacious living areas, synonymous with modern architecture, with panoramic views of Jimbaran Bay. Located within the lush AYANA Estate, the sounds of nature are never far away. This idea of an immersive experience, harmonious with nature, echoes the Balinese philosophy Tri Hita Karana, and was the guiding principle of AYANA.
Designed by WATG, the award-winning design firm behind the other AYANA properties in Bali and Komodo, the new development evokes a modern and simple aesthetic. The rooms and restaurant interiors are designed by Yasuhiro Koichi, the founder of SPIN Design Studio, who also designed the famed Rock Bar. Upon arrival in the hotel lobby, intricate wood carvings create a welcoming oasis of calm. The lobby ceiling features a kamasan painting—a traditional painting from the village of Klungkung in Bali— which takes guests on a virtual journey of the Balinese epic wayang story.
Indoor Outdoor Guestrooms
Guest rooms range from 58 to 65 sqm and the four suites span about 93 sqm. Each room offers indoor-outdoor spaces with floor- to-ceiling framed windows with terraces or private balconies, complete with daybeds to enjoy the view.
Contemporary design interiors are accentuated with rich materials. Each room has luxury living spaces, dining areas and a large walk-in wardrobe. The opulent bathrooms include oversized oval bathtubs and marble rain showers.
Dining Destinations
AYANA Segara Bali has three stylish restaurants for guests and visitors: Karang, SCUSA and Luna. Each features natural lighting and outdoor dining spaces and offers culinary experiences and menus from around the world. Karang is situated at the main pool with a 194-seat all-day dining. The wide ranging a menu includes Pan-Asian, local and western breakfast buffets and comfort tapas- style plates of Chinese and Italian cuisine.
SCUSA, the new Mediterranean restaurant, offers fresh salads, pasta and seafood with a wine list that highlights Bali’s best Mediterranean-style white and red wines.
Located at top of AYANA Segara Bali, Luna is the place to watch spectacular sunsets. The menu presents contemporary dishes using fresh local ingredients from AYANA Farm – a pure farm-to-table experience. For sunset dining, Luna offers Mediterranean and local tapas-style menus, focusing on flavour and freshness.
Wellbeing
The indoor-outdoor concept of AYANA Segara Bali is perpetuated through its main pool. Its unique infinity design spread across two levels allows guests to lounge and immerse themselves in Indian ocean views. It is also suitable for lap swimming and exercise. Wellness is a primary focus at the hotel. The 22,000 sqm AYANA Spa, boasts more than 50 treatment rooms, and an extensive list of options. There are traditional Balinese massages and marine rituals alongside more exclusive treatments such as the Nakatsuji Method, which was created by Japanese professional osteopath and anti- ageing expert Tadashi Nakatsuji and encourages full-body healing.
“AYANA Segara Bali will charm the curious-minded and young- at-heart travellers looking for laidback luxury, and be inspired to explore the unique experiences that AYANA Estate offers. As a microcosm of the island experience, AYANA Estate is a perfect starting point to explore Bali and a must-visit destination in its own right,” explained Michi Sonoda, Executive Assistant Manager, Sales and Marketing of AYANA Hospitality.
