Indonesian craftsmanship takes centre stage at Artisan Alley Vol. 02, a curated art and craft bazaar held at the Mandapa Area. Featuring up to 30 selected local brands, the event presents a lively showcase of creativity, cultural heritage and contemporary design.
Part of the Indonesia Curated Craft Market, Artisan Alley is curated in collaboration with ICAD (Indonesian Contemporary Art & Design). The programme explores the evolving relationship between tradition and innovation, highlighting how familiar materials and time-honoured techniques can be transformed through fresh ideas and modern sensibilities.
Each edition carries a distinct theme, ensuring visitors encounter something new, from original designs and exclusive product launches to emerging labels and established names. Beyond displaying beautiful objects, the bazaar offers a closer look at the people, processes and stories behind Indonesia’s growing craft movement.
Artisan Alley also plays a broader role in supporting the country’s creative economy. In collaboration with the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, the Indonesia Design Development Center (IDDC) and ICAD, the programme seeks to identify outstanding, export-ready UMKM products from across the archipelago and help introduce them to the international market.
With its thoughtful curation and engaging mix of brands, Artisan Alley Vol. 02 reveals a dynamic side of Indonesian craft, one that honours its roots while confidently embracing the future.
