One of the capital’s most anticipated cultural events, ArtMoments Jakarta 2025, returns with renewed vigor, a compelling theme, and a striking new venue. The fair opens its doors to VIP guests on Thursday, 7 August 2025, followed by public access from 8–10 August 2025, at the AGORA Exhibition Hall, Jakarta’s newest destination for art, culture, and innovation. This move marks a defining moment in the fair’s evolution, signaling a shift toward deeper public engagement and expanded artistic dialogue.

At the helm is Sendy Widjaja, Co-Founder and Fair Director of ArtMoments Jakarta, who envisions art not just as an object of admiration, but as a vehicle for healing, provocation, and transformation. With the theme “Restoration,” this year’s edition responds to a global yearning for reconnection, rekindling joy, exploring shared humanity, and imagining new futures through the lens of art.

“We are thrilled that ArtMoments Jakarta has found a new home right in the heart of the city. This central location not only increases accessibility for both local and international visitors, but also reflects our commitment to making art more inclusive and reachable from all corners of Jakarta. This year marks a special milestone as we partner with Yayasan Mitra Museum Jakarta and Save the Children, strengthening our mission to give back and support the wider community. Through these collaborations, we aim to bridge the worlds of art, education, and social responsibility. We believe that ArtMoments Jakarta can be more than just an art fair — it can be a catalyst for cultural enrichment and a platform that creates meaningful, lasting impact for both the art ecosystem and the society at large,” said Sendy Widjaja.

The 2025 edition brings together 57 galleries and more than 600 artists from across Indonesia and the world. A major highlight includes a tribute to four trailblazers of Indonesian modern art: Sudjana Kerton, Ahmad Sadali, S. Sudjojono, and Fadjar Sidik, offering a poignant look into the nation’s artistic legacy.

The fair opens with remarks from distinguished speakers, followed by a powerful performance by Arahmaini, a pioneer in Southeast Asia’s contemporary performance art scene. Known for weaving together dance, music, and visual art, Arahmaini’s

Under the curatorial direction of Sujud Dartanto, ArtMoments Jakarta 2025 honors the past and celebrates innovation. Among the standout moments is the launch of “The Night the Stars Went Missing,” a debut children’s book by acclaimed contemporary artist Adam Handler. Known for his emotionally resonant, whimsical figures, Handler’s foray into children’s literature marks a tender new dimension of his artistic practice. The book will be launched on 7 August during the fair’s opening program.

ArtMoments Jakarta 2025 will also feature Converse Moments and Makers Moments, intimate forums designed to foster dialogue between artists, collectors, curators, and the broader public. These sessions underscore the fair’s ambition: to create a space where ideas meet, evolve, and inspire action.

As ArtMoments Jakarta enters a bold new era at AGORA, it remains a vital force in Southeast Asia’s art landscape. It is poised to bridge disciplines, break boundaries, and offer a renewed vision of what art can be.
