Emerging Designer Dacia Opstal Blurs the Line Between Fashion and Furniture at Indonesian Design Week

Emerging designer Dacia Opstal announces the debut of her first furniture with Jakarta-based brand Box Living, to be unveiled at Indonesian Design Week this September. Situated between art and furniture, and with nods to fashion, the collection redefines functional objects as sculptural expressions.

Growing up as the daughter of the founders of Box Living, Opstal was immersed in the design world from an early age, attending international furniture fairs, watching sketches come to life and transform spaces, and even participating in curating displays as a kid. Opstal has long seen design as a means to shape the human experience.

Now in her final year studying Product and Industrial Design at Central Saint Martins, she takes her foray into the furniture world with a body of work that is both conceptually rich and materially inquisitive.
