How much can a building reveal in a single visit? At JIA Curated 2026, TenuNYamaN invited visitors to explore that question by stepping inside. Presented as a living showcase, the two-storey building offered an opportunity to experience ViroFab’s prefabricated construction system first-hand, from its architectural character to the details of its woven elements.
The appeal lay in making a construction method tangible. Visitors could move through the building, examine its materials and consider how its components came together. For designers and prospective clients, this offered a useful way to assess the relationship between the building system, the finished design and the experience of inhabiting it.
At the heart of TenuNYamaN is a straightforward process: components are fabricated in a factory before being transported to the site for assembly. The approach encompasses structural panels, walls and woven elements, bringing different parts of the building into a coordinated production and installation sequence.
According to the project information, this method enabled TenuNYamaN’s on-site construction to be completed in eight days. That timeframe illustrates the role of advance fabrication, although it should be understood separately from the time required for design, planning and factory production. Much of the work takes place before the components arrive on site.
Equally central to the showcase was ViroFab’s ambition to deliver premium architecture while retaining design quality and craftsmanship. TenuNYamaN explored how a system based on prefabricated components could accommodate both the practical requirements of a two-storey building and the detail that gives architecture its identity. Its woven elements brought texture into that discussion, drawing attention to the relationship between construction and craft.
For visitors considering prefabrication, the showcase offered a concrete starting point. How do the panels meet? How are the finishes integrated? How does the completed building feel from within? An accessible, full-scale example allows these questions to be explored through direct observation.
TenuNYamaN’s contribution to JIA Curated 2026 was therefore both experiential and informative. By opening its doors, it made the process behind the architecture easier to understand and invited a closer look at how preparation, assembly and craftsmanship can work together.
