The Nouvelle of Divine Designs

Restaurants have become an important part of our lifestyle. More than just the enjoyment of the food and beverages, people flock to restaurants for the ambiance and escape from reality that designers evoke with their restaurant design. In appreciation of these divine designs, Indonesia Design chose ‘Inspiring Restaurant Designs’ as our theme for our Collection Edition 2014.

We launched our Collection Edition 2014 on Friday, 4 July 2014. The cocktail launch party took place at Nouvelle Restaurant & Lounge, the French-Japanese Fusion restaurant that we featured in the edition as well. We shared the joy of the fruits of our labor with restaurant owners, chefs and our supportive clients and close friends during the event.

A marvelous food display stole the limelight and all the patrons’ attention during the event. Chef Francis Lim of Nouvelle displayed ten dishes from their menu in a flawless food presentation, from Escargot Nouvelle to Organic Chicken Miso right through to Miso Chocolate Palet. While admiring the presentation, guests could sample a bite of the free flowing canapés that contained replicas of the presented food in convenient petite bitesized fashion.

To inaugurate the edition our Editor in Chief, Lina Gan, unveiled a framed version of our Collection Edition’s cover. At this joyous moment guest raised their glasses filled with wine and cocktails to toast to the celebration and success of our edition launch.

Door prizes were given to guests that dropped their business cards into our fishbowl upon arrival via a lucky draw process. The door prizes were dining vouchers from four of the restaurants that were featured in the Collection Edition 2014; Colonial Cuisine & Molecular, TalagaSampireunAncol, 6 Degrees and from our host Nouvelle Restaurant & Lounge. The lucky winners were VianaIgah from Grand Hyatt Jakarta, AjiWarpani from Hawawinata& Associates, AnnisaPutriFauzia from Takumi Robata& Sushi, Sari Sukmawatie from Alila Jakarta and IrpanApandi from The Dharmawangsa Jakarta. As an extra surprise the Proprietor and Chef of Turkuaz, SezaiZorlu, gave an additional door prize for lunch or dinner for two persons at Turkuaz that was won by ceramic artist, ArtiGidwani.

Dining in Indonesia is an inspiration, and featuring twenty two inspiring designs in our Collection Edition 2014 is a highlight we are happy to share with our readers. The edition will be available in leading bookstores until the end of November 2014.
