For twenty-one years, Indonesia Design has chronicled the unfolding narrative of creativity across the archipelago and beyond. As the nation’s only English-language design publication, we have served as a discerning lens through which the worlds of architecture, art, interior design, craftsmanship, and lifestyle are viewed. By presenting both emerging talents and distinguished visionaries, our pages reflect the dynamism of Indonesia’s creative landscape, a tapestry woven from innovation, artistry, and cultural depth.
In 2025, we carried this journey into a new realm with the launch of Opulent Living 2025. For the first time, Indonesia Design translated its editorial ethos into a physical environment, crafting an exhibition that embodied the richness and refinement long celebrated in our publication. Presented at the iconic Plaza Indonesia from 1 to 9 November 2025, the showcase drew remarkable enthusiasm, prompting an extended run until 16 November 2025.
More than a defining milestone, Opulent Living 2025 signals the beginning of our biennial commitment to inspire, connect, and elevate the design community through curated showcases and thoughtful collaborations. It is an invitation to deepen engagement within the creative ecosystem, strengthening relationships between designers, brands, industry leaders, and design aficionados. Through these encounters, we aim to nurture dialogue, cultivate excellence, and expand the horizons of contemporary design.
Our inaugural theme, “Luxury Cruise,” established the conceptual foundation for this new chapter. Instead of treating luxury as a static ideal, the exhibition reframed it as a sensorial journey, where comfort, beauty, imagination, and spatial elegance exist in seamless harmony. The venue was transformed to evoke the atmosphere of a grand cruise voyage, guiding guests through a series of curated environments that exemplified the art of sophisticated living.
Opulent Living 2025 became a vivid extension of our editorial philosophy, bringing the ideas, aesthetics, and stories that animate our publication into immersive form. Every installation and spatial vignette was shaped with intention, reflecting the evolving dialogues of modern living. These dialogues informed by Indonesian heritage, global currents, and a deep respect for craftsmanship.
Beyond visual splendour, the exhibition embraced collaboration and interaction as core principles. Through cross industry partnerships, visitors were introduced to innovative materials, premium brands, artistic statements, and future oriented solutions that influence the way we live and design. From discreet moments of intimacy to grand experiential statements, each touchpoint offered a refined encounter with the meaning of opulent living.
All in all, Opulent Living 2025 served as a dynamic forum where designers engaged with discerning audiences, where brands connected with thought leaders, and where lifestyle was transformed from a concept into an experience. It fostered inspiration, expanded networks, and reaffirmed the vital role of design in shaping the way we inhabit the world.
