Fashion’s Night Out
Indonesia Design, as the most widely read lifestyle design magazine, finally highlighted fashion in our 64th edition themed ‘Fashion in Design’. The launching of our very own ‘September Issue’ was celebrated on 29 September 2014 at BLU, the stylish poolside venue of Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta.
Fashionistas and supportive clients dressed-up to the nines for the launching event. Once they entered the terrace of BLU, they were welcomed by two mannequins wearing IwanTirta Private Collection. Many more mannequins that were wearing clothes by RindaSalmun, Patrick Owen and Vone by Ivonne Magdalena were stealing people’s attention from their display areas. A couture dress by PriyoOktaviano was gorgeously standing on the stage juxtaposing DJ HogiWirjono who enlivened the party with immaculate music and tunes.
Photos by the photographers that were featured in our Design Focus section, appeared to be the accents at the bar area. The explanations of all displayed items were showcased on the Samsung Tab S. The guests had fun posting their photos at the event to Instagram with the #FashionInDesignLaunching, and weredelighted to take home their printed photos from Selvio’s instant photo print. The guests were also enjoying free flow cocktails, winesand canapés served by BLU’s kitchen brigade. Our Editor At Large, Dewald Haynes, welcomed and thanked the guest who joined the party. He invited WindaMalikaSiregar, our Guest Editor for the ‘Fashion in Design’ edition to the stage and she shared her impression in bringing the theme to life.
She unveiled the framed magazine cover to inaugurate the edition, and invited NadyAzhry, the graphic designer who made the cover, to tell the story behind the making of the front cover. Lina Gan, our Editor In Chief, also thanked the guest and the editorial team. Door prizes from RIMOWA, Hotel Tugu Malang and Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta were then taken home by the lucky winners: Nada Lahlou from Design Desk Studio, Novena Widjaja of Selvio and Desire Merlina. The formalities ended with a food parade that displayed the dessert collection of Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta. The guests enjoyed the rest of the night – hanging out, sipping their wine and cocktails and admiring the display selection during the best BLU Monday night in a long time!
