Gaggenau, the luxury brand for professional-grade home appliances, opens 'Presence' at Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan. Running from 21 - 26 April 2026, the installation offers a spatial experience, inviting the architecture and design community to engage with Gaggenau’s latest appliances.

Situated within the glass pavilion in the gardens of Villa Necchi Campiglio, ‘Presence’ is conceived as a deliberate spatial sequence. Drawing on Italian Modernism and classical antiquity, the installation uses rhythm, proportion, light and material to shape the visitor experience. As guests move through the changing spaces, the architecture creates a sense of focus and clarity.

The installation was developed in collaboration with Munich-based architectural studio 1zu33 and realised by Conduk.

Gaggenau appliances are designed to integrate seamlessly into a variety of living environments, responding to different architectural contexts through their refined design language. At the centre of the installation, a series of focal points presents Gaggenau’s latest appliances as part of the wider architectural composition. The Gaggenau Expressive series oven is framed by a central travertine stone staircase, the Gaggenau Minimalistic series is set against backlit mirrored and tinted glass, Vario cooktops are integrated into basalt and burnt wood, and the Vario cooling Expressive series is presented in burnished brass. Rather than being displayed in isolation, the appliances are embedded within the structure and encountered through placement, material and proportion.

The culinary dimension of the installation was developed in close dialogue with the architecture and in collaboration with three-Michelin-star chef Tohru Nakamura. Throughout the week, a light dashi is served to guests within the installation, heightening sensory awareness. Private dinners for architects, designers and partners are hosted within the installation, bringing together leading figures from the international design community.

Dr Peter Goetz, Managing Director of Gaggenau, says: “With ‘Presence’, we have created an installation that expresses our understanding of refinement through architecture, proportion and material. At Villa Necchi Campiglio, visitors can experience Gaggenau beyond product presentation, with appliances forming part of a considered architectural composition. It reflects a focused and intentional approach, allowing the work to speak for itself. We look forward to welcoming visitors to Villa Necchi Campiglio at this year’s Milan Design Week.”

‘Presence’ is open daily from 11:00 to 18:00 (last entry 17:00) at Villa Necchi Campiglio, Via Mozart 14, Milan.
