“Gedung Kaca” is an exhibition that commemorates the 20th anniversary of The Papilion building located in Kemang, South Jakarta. It exhibits models of the iconic building, the design sketch, working drawings, samples of architectural elements, including the spider detail used for the glass façade, and photographs of the building by seasoned Indonesian photographers Indra Leonardi and Davy Linggar.

Each photo presents The Papilion through their own artistic approach, offering us different ways to enjoy architecture through lights, surface, movement, and texture.

The iconic glass building is designed by a notable Indonesian architect duo, Gregorius Supie Yolodi and Maria Rosantina, with their team at d-associates, now known as Yolodi + Maria Architects. Designed in 2002-2004, it is a huge glass box with three transparent facades.

The transparency blends the interior and exterior, allowing the activities inside the building to be seen from outside. The four-storey building has been open to the public since 2006 as a lifestyle hub that houses a restaurant, bar, boutique, and retail.

The exhibition is running from 28 August until 13 September 2026. Do pay a visit and enjoy the experience of being in a ‘gedung kaca’, which translates to glass building, while taking pleasure in the delicious food and beverages, and browse or shop the well-curated goods.
