The eleventh edition of IFFINA (Indonesia Meubel & Design Expo) is running from 14 until 17 September 2024 at ICE BSD, Tangerang. Once again organised by ASMINDO (Indonesian Furniture and Craft Industry Association), this year’s theme is “Sustainable by Design”, which was chosen to reflect ASMINDO’s and Indonesia’s furniture industry’s commitment to sustainability. As stated by Dedy Rochimat, the chairman of ASMINDO, “We believe that focusing on sustainability will open new opportunities and enhance our industry’s competitiveness.”
Occupying the halls 7, 8 and 9 of ICE BSD, the international-scale exhibition expected to elevate Indonesian furniture and craft industry to a broader level. This year, IFFINA is collaborating with Koelnmesse to introduce the inaugural interzum showcase in Jakarta within the expo. The showcase features the latest trends and advancements in furniture production and interior design. It allows the industry professionals to network with leading experts, discover cutting-edge technologies, and explore new business possibilities.
The government, through various ministries, has committed to support the IFFINA event, which aims to develop the country’s world-class furniture and craft industry by creating an ecosystem that aligns with national market potential and export needs. A strong and integrated supply chain is expected to positively support the industry’s development.
The target number of visitors for IFFINA this year is set to increase by 20 percent from last year, which is roughly 15,000 visitors, both domestic and international. Not only can they see the exhibition, but also join other programmes including design workshops, talk shows, and special showcases for selected designers.
IFFINA 2024 has received support from various parties, including the Ministry of Cooperatives & SMEs, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Tourism & Creative Economy, AFIC (ASEAN Furniture Industries Council), and CAFA (Council of Asia Pacific Furniture Associations).
