Melbourne: OMA/Rem Koolhaas & David Gianotten to Design MPavilion 2017
Netherlands-based architectural firm OMA will design the Melbourne-based temporary landmark and event hub MPavilion 2017 under the world’s most provocative and influential architect Rem Koolhaas & managing partner-architect David Gianotten. Mpavilion 2017 will be the first building designed and constructed by OMA in Australia. The event hub will be open for public on Oct. 3, 2017.
Glasswork maker Nikolas Weinstein Studio just completed their largest and most complex installation at the lobby of the Premier Office Tower, Jakarta. The glasswork is comprised of eight panels that appear to peel off the wall and float through the lobby of an office tower. Their largest piece was bigger than an eighteen-wheeler that made the entire glasswork had to be built onsite and installed after. Visit his blog.
Barcelona-based architecture firm APPAREIL converted a Barcelona warehouse into co-working office and maker space in Poblenou, Spain. Dedicated to independent professionals from the architecture world and neighboring disciplines, the building offers a simple open working space. The room remains deliberately hollow, equips with floating tables, and all functionalities are pushed to two intricate milled-timber multifunctional walls.
