Sustainability in home decorating and materials

A more green choice in home decor and the rise of biophillic trend will be top of mind in 2022. Materials used at home will be more natural and produced sustainably that moved away from mass production with responsible design.

Multipurpose spaces

The makeshift home office or study/teaching space will somewhat remain as we embrace hybrid working but this isn’t the only reason to create multifunctional spaces. As dwellers rethink the way they live, it is less about the aesthetic but rather how they feel at home.

Bedroom sanctuary

As we have been in perpetual lockdown the last two years, many of us are doubling up our bedroom as home office or study room. In 2022, the bedroom will return to a calm, peaceful sanctuary to retreat to. Compartmentalising will be big this year.

Biophillic designs

Like last year, biophillic design will rule this year bigger and better. With more adopting conscious design in decorating our homes, home owners are looking at bringing nature into interior design.

Colourful interior

This year colours will rule our homes as many of us are feeling positive with renewed hope towards a better year. Shades of blues, purples, greens, yellows, oranges and pinks will be a common choice to bring out the playful side of the dweller and we are excited to see more colours injected into living spaces.

Organic and curvy shapes

The love for nature at home doesn’t just mean colours and plants but also the furnishings and decor to achieve the natural look. Expect to see more rounded edges and more organic home decor and furniture in 2022.

Statement lighting

Lighting will be a combination of function and fashion this year. As statement lighting will allow folks to spotlight their homes and doubles as eye catching artwork.
