Prabu Perdana, an artist from Bandung, has reaffirmed his artistic identity through the exhibition "Landscape between Two Backgrounds." His consistency in working with landscape as the main theme shows how this visual object is not just a panorama but also a space for reflection that combines reality and imagination.

Suspensi in the Sky

In 2020, UOB Indonesia awarded the UOB Painting of the Year 2020 award to Prabu for his work entitled "Isolated Garden." Since this victory, Prabu's landscape works have become increasingly known and exhibited in various art galleries in Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Magelang, as well as Singapore, Italy, and the United States.

Through the exhibition "Lanskap Di Antara Dua Latar," Prabu goes into more detail with richer color experiments. Prabu displays a visual dialectic between two settings: the urban landscape, which is the background, and the plants, which dominate the front space of the canvas. The buildings, constructions, and urban panoramas that were familiar to him appeared in contrast with the flowers, twigs, and leaves that were present in full color. This combination is not just a visual play but rather a reflection on modern life: a real but dilemmatic city dealing with nature, which appears as an image full of allure and longing.

In this exhibition, UOB Indonesia supports Prabu Perdana's career journey while expanding public access to appreciate works of Indonesian fine art. This step is also a form of UOB Indonesia's consistency in encouraging the birth of a new generation of artists.

Maya Rizano, Head of Strategic Communications and Brand, UOB Indonesia, said, "As a financial institution, UOB Indonesia not only plays a role in encouraging economic growth but is also committed to building social development through the arts, education, and children. Since 2011, we have consistently supported more than 750 Indonesian artists, including six winners of the UOB Southeast Asian Painting of the Year award. Support for the Prabu Perdana exhibition confirms UOB Indonesia's commitment to enriching the fine arts ecosystem and inspiring young artists to continue creating."

Land Transformation

"Lanskap Di Antara Dua Latar" is an artistic statement about the position of humans in the midst of fast-paced modernity. Through a bold composition, Prabu invites the audience to reconsider the relationship between the city and nature and reminds us that behind our attachment to urban life, there is always a fundamental need to refind balance with the natural environment. In this way, his works not only offer aesthetic beauty but also present reflections that are relevant to the life experiences of many people.

Representatives from the Vice & Virtue Gallery said, "We see Prabu Perdana's work as a bridge between everyday experiences in the city and human longing for nature. This exhibition shows visual power and presents a space for reflection that is very relevant for today's urban society. Vice & Virtue Gallery is proud to be part of Prabu's artistic journey and present his work to a wider public."

The Vice and Virtue Gallery will exhibit Prabu Perdana's artwork. The exhibition is open to the public every day from September 13 to October 13, 2025.
