Legacy of Nature and Modern Luxury

There are brands that manufacture products, and there are brands that shape culture. AXOR belongs firmly to the latter. Born in Germany in 1993 under the Hansgrohe Group, AXOR has established its global stature not merely through precision engineering but through a profound devotion to design as an art form. Its evolution has been driven by collaborations with some of the world’s most influential architects and designers, including Philippe Starck, Antonio Citterio, Jean-Marie Massaud, Patricia Urquiola, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Nendo, and David Adjaye, among others. Together, they have authored a new paradigm for the bathroom: no longer a utilitarian corner, but a sanctuary of luxury, serenity, and personal identity.

That spirit of design finds a new architectural presence in Indonesia with the unveiling of AXOR at GALLERIA Surabaya. For this landmark space, AXOR appointed Harry Fatkan, founder and creative director of REALINO Design&Contract, to lead the spatial interpretation. Widely recognized for his refined sensibility in luxury interiors, Harry approached the showroom not as a retail environment but as an immersive narrative, a translation of AXOR’s design legacy into architecture and emotion.

His concept draws from the brand’s three symbolic pillars: Black Forest, Gold, and Water. Rather than applying these inspirations literally, he reshapes them into a cinematic spatial storyline. This narrative ultimately crystallizes into the overarching theme: “Legacy of Nature & Modern Luxury.”

Black Forest, the birthplace of AXOR in the Schwarzwald region of Germany, evokes depth, tranquillity, and an instinctive connection to nature. In the hands of Harry, deep tones become accents and backgrounds that heighten contrast and clarity rather than darkening the space. The showroom is bright, warm, and inviting, yet enriched with layers of visual depth that encourage calm and contemplation.

Gold, AXOR’s signature in the realm of premium metal finishes, appears not as a spectacle but as a whisper of timeless luxury. Selective highlights, subtle glints, and controlled reflections introduce refinement without excess. It elevates without overwhelming. Luxury here is not theatrical; it is confident, intelligent, and quietly assured.

Water completes the trinity, the emotional core of AXOR. In this showroom, water is not simply functional; it is performative, almost poetic. Illuminated streams and fluid choreography reveal water as sensation, an intimate dialogue between user, design, and experience. Every drop becomes a moment to be felt rather than seen.

Where these three elements converge, the theme “Legacy of Nature & Modern Luxury” becomes more than a title: it becomes an atmosphere. The showroom expresses AXOR’s heritage, grounded in nature, craftsmanship, and emotional clarity, while embracing the elegance and sophistication of contemporary luxury living. Visitors are not merely introduced to the products; they are invited to experience the philosophy behind them.

At AXOR, at GALLERIA Surabaya, nothing is incidental. Every surface, every shadow, every reflection, and every drop of water is part of a carefully composed sensory narrative. And at the heart of this composition stands the vision of Harry Fatkan of REALINO Design&Contract, shaping AXOR’s international legacy through an architectural lens that is bold yet graceful, luxurious yet thoughtful, and modern yet deeply connected to nature.

In a design world where luxury is often defined by excess, the AXOR showroom in Surabaya offers a compelling counterpoint: luxury that is calm, precise, timeless, and profoundly personal. A legacy of nature, translated into modern life. A new benchmark for experiential bathroom design in Indonesia.
