Jakarta rarely stands still. Its streets pulse with business, culture, dining and nightlife, often unfolding all at once. At 25hours Hotel The Oddbird, that spirited energy has always been part of the experience. Now, the hotel invites guests to see the capital from a quieter, and considerably higher, perspective.
Perched on the 52nd floor, two new penthouses, The Loft and The Proper One, introduce a more residential expression of The Oddbird’s playful personality. Designed by Singapore-based EDG Interior Architecture + Design, with Rob Shen as lead designer, the spaces bring together privacy, character and sweeping views of Jakarta. The wider hotel was conceived through a collaboration between 1508 Singapore Studio, STYLT and EDG Design, while its architecture is credited to Jakarta-based Airmas Asri Architects.
The Loft is the freer spirit of the pair. Relaxed and expressive, it is designed for leisurely mornings, unhurried evenings and gatherings that flow naturally between living, dining and resting areas. Its industrial character and generous proportions create the feeling of a creative home in the sky, comfortable enough for an extended stay, yet dramatic enough for entertaining.
The Proper One takes a more polished approach. Arranged across 192 square metres, its L-shaped layout balances intimate corners with expansive social spaces. A dining area anchored by a baby grand piano adds a theatrical note, transforming dinner, cocktails or a quiet evening into something memorable. Floor-to-ceiling windows keep Jakarta’s skyline ever-present, changing the atmosphere from pale morning light to the glittering city after dark.
Connecting the penthouses is Bar-i, an invitation-only cocktail lounge conceived as a discreet hideaway. Intimate and atmospheric, it gives the 52nd floor its social heartbeat while maintaining a sense of exclusivity. The two penthouses can also be joined, creating a larger setting for private celebrations, discreet hosting or extended stays.
Together, these spaces reveal a more contemplative side of The Oddbird. They are not simply suites in which to sleep but places to live, gather and linger. High above the capital’s constant movement, Jakarta becomes more than a view; it becomes part of the interior experience itself.
