Potato Head Folk resides in an iconic, 1939 four-storey building on Keong Saik road; where each floor houses a different venue offering a unique ambience. Passing by tables on the pavements by the Three Buns Kitchen on the first floor, and continuing to ascend a flight of stairs, you would find yourself in the groovy Three Buns Dining Kitchen.
Greeted by rare artworks by the reputable Australian artist David Bromley, as you stand surrounded by walls adorned with his intricate butterfly and flower murals, it’s understandably easy to fall in love with the place.
Ronald Akili, the CEO of PTT Family, together with founding partner Jason Gunawan, creatively designed and decorated Potato Head Folk into an artistically whimsical venue with a touch of class. With its colourful tiles, old-fashioned red windowpanes, paired with eclectic furniture and one-of-a-kind handmade art pieces, patrons are invited to not only dine and savour in Potato Head Folk’s signature cocktails and delectable burgers and fries, but to also enjoy the ambiance. In this cozy space, expect a mix crowd ranging from young adults staying to work on their laptops, professionals lunching over business deals, to ladies enjoying a stylish rendezvous.
For those looking for a second round after a good meal at Three Buns, an intimate, elegant bar is conveniently within proximity on the third floor. Inspired by Bromley’s artist studio in Melbourne, Studio 1939 enchants patrons with its décor that is just as whimsical as the floor below. The room embodies a collision between contemporary, modern hues with a dash of vintage. Walls exposed in their raw form are complemented with Chinese heritage pieces and antiques from all over the world. The bar serves exceptional spirits, wines and homemade cocktails and the menu extends to an appetizing list of foie gras, bone marrow, Wagyu burger and artisanal cheese boards.
Ascending yet another flight of stairs takes you to the vibrant The Rooftop, where Potato Head Folk seals the deal. A serene, open-air spot with the same fun Potato Head Folk vibe allows patrons to escape the night in between refreshments. The balconies, lined with tropical plants and flowers, overlook the city, surrounding the venue with a view.
Tucked away in a compact historic building offering four different venues all beautifully designed, levelled with its mouth watering dishes served by friendly servers, Potato Head Folk proves to be a contender when it comes to providing a good time, and to think that this is PTT Family’s group first international venture!
