What did you see about the development of the hospitality industry in Jakarta for the past five years? And what does Pan Pacific Jakarta bring to it?
Over the past five years, Jakarta’s hospitality industry has seen significant growth, driven by increasing tourism and business travel. There’s been a rise in luxury hotels and a focus on unique experiences. Pan Pacific Jakarta contributes by offering a blend of graceful luxury, authenticity and stunning views, catering to both business and leisure travellers. We also focus on sustainability initiatives, reflecting a growing trend in responsible tourism.
What motivated you to become the general manager of this hotel?
The opportunity to lead a team passionate about and dedicated to excellence in a hotel with such iconic views and a strong brand reputation was a major motivator. I’m poised about creating meaningful guest interactions and building a strong team culture focused on surpassing expectations. Furthermore, Jakarta’s dynamic environment presents exciting challenges that inspire me to create something extraordinary.
Besides the view, what makes this hotel stand out?
Whilst the view is undeniably spectacular, our hotel’s unique selling points go beyond that. We offer exceptional service, personalised and tailored to each guest, top-notch culinary offerings, and a commitment to sustainability. Our well-designed guest rooms also contribute significantly to the overall experience, creating a luxurious and sophisticated ambiance.
Do you see any challenge if the capital of Jakarta moves to Ibu Kota Nusantara?
The potential relocation of the capital to Ibu Kota Nusantara presents both challenges and opportunities. Whilst we anticipate some decrease in government related business travel, we believe that Pan Pacific Jakarta’s prime location and established reputation will continue to attract a significant number of domestic and international travellers, especially those seeking the comfort of luxury in a well-established area of the city. We will need to adapt our strategies to focus on attracting different segments of the market if we want to accommodate the changing dynamics.
Which part of the Pan Pacific Jakarta do you like the most?
I appreciate the entire hotel. Moreover, the outdoor spaces, particularly the rooftop at our Eden bar with stunning views are also my favourites. These areas offer perfect spots to invite friends and create memorable moments whilst enjoying the city’s incredible skyline. They’re ideal for showcasing the hotel’s beauty and unique experiences to others.
