Located in the prestigious and conservation area of Indonesian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort is a five-star destination where Balinese hospitality unites with French sophistication to offer a truly incredible resort experience.

Aerial view of the expansive resort

Arrive at Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort to be greeted with a chorus of “bonjour” and be mesmerised by the views and sights at this expansive beachfront establishment. The French hospitality brand takes pride in infusing their national culture with local magnetism for each of their properties around the world. This resort features world-class design whilst maintaining cultural authenticity and environmental sensitivity.

Hanging bells adorn the foyer

Guests would be dropped off at the porte-cochere, which will lead to a foyer flanked by draping tingling bells before opening up to a view of towering timber column that supports the roof in the heart of the rotunda lobby.

The towering structure inspires the entire design strategy and symbolises the banyan tree, which is the centre of social life in the Balinese villages. Made from Glulam, a type of structural timber product comprising a number of layers of dimensioned timber bonded together with durable, moisture-resistant structural adhesives, five twenty-metre curved columns are supported individually by a concrete base, forming the banyan-tree-like formations from the ground, up to the atrium’s roof.

View from the lounge

Around the rotunda, the upper part of the walls is embellished with intricate wood panels carved by Yogyakarta artist Agus Suharyanto that depicts a trimurti sculpture representing the circle of life.

The main building houses the cleverly tucked lobby, a gift shop as well as the lounge, where guests can enjoy stunning views of the property and sunsets. To obtain a seamless view from the viewing platform, the designers at WATG, working side by side with the landscape consultant Belt Collins, push the all-day dining and recreational areas to the entire length of the property, covering them with green roofs to hide the structure whilst giving a continuous cascading rice-field-like landscape.

After exploring a number of options, architects settled on an inverted U-shaped master layout. It places the main building in the middle of the curve, at the furthest side of the beach. The north and south wings on each side lay the 415 guest rooms, sixty per cent of them bearing ocean views. The rooms are spacious, boasting modern luxury in design with French Art De Vivre infused with Balinese accents.

Kwee Zeen Restaurant

Nestled on the brilliant pristine beach in Nusa Dua, this resort has so much to offer in terms of facilities and activities. The resort features two ballrooms, five meeting rooms, two restaurants, a bar and lounge as well as wellness facilities.

Guests can enjoy a laid-back day just lounging at the sweeping pool, almost stretching out to the sea it faces, or opt for a relaxing massage by the beach at the outdoor huts.

Sofitel's Le Bar

Whether you are on a romantic vacation or on business, Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort has a little something for everyone and the possibilities for leisure are endless, especially those creature comforts.
