Presented at JIA Curated 2026, the walk-in showcase offers a glimpse of how prefabrication could serve luxury hospitality and premium homes in tropical settings.
At Pengembak Beach in Sanur, Bali, visitors to JIA Curated 2026 could step inside TenuNYamaN and experience ViroFab’s prefabricated building system for themselves. Presented from 13 to 17 August, the installation brought the system beyond its first pilot project at ARCH:ID 2026 and showed how it could be applied to hospitality and residential projects.
TenuNYamaN was conceived as a complete, inhabitable space rather than a conventional exhibition stand. Visitors could move through it, encounter its materials at close range and consider how the building feels in Bali’s tropical setting. Its structural panels, walls and woven elements were fabricated in a factory before being assembled on site in just over a week.
For developers of luxury resorts, villas and premium homes, the construction process presents familiar challenges. Weather, logistics and labour availability can disrupt schedules; rising costs can put pressure on a project’s budget; and maintaining the same standard of workmanship across multiple units can be difficult. ViroFab addresses these concerns by moving much of the work to a controlled factory environment, where components can be produced while preparations continue on site. The approach is intended to make costs easier to estimate during planning and help maintain consistent precision.
The system centres on six priorities: controlled quality, more predictable schedules, clearer budgets, design flexibility, materials suited to tropical heat and humidity, and reduced maintenance needs. It is designed to give architects room to shape each project while responding to heavy rainfall and coastal conditions.
At TenuNYamaN, those practical aims are paired with a more personal idea of comfort. Guided by the philosophy, “We do not build against nature. We weave within it,” the showcase brings architecture, interiors, furniture, lighting, planting, materials and fragrance together as one sensory experience. Its proportions and atmosphere invite visitors to pause and consider how a prefabricated building can feel at home in its landscape.
The project was led by VIRO and Häfele Indonesia, with contributions from partners across the design and building industries. HUBU provided plants; ROCA sanitaryware; QUADRA tabletops; ROMAN bathroom tiles; MONOLIT an outdoor grill; RZB outdoor lighting; VANIA curtains; GOODVIBES fragrance; ASTA aluminium doors and windows; ARCSTONE foundations; TEKA flooring; and INLITE switches and sockets.
ViroFab offers a standard two-year warranty covering manufacturing and structural defects, with an extended warranty of up to ten years available through a service contract. Intended applications include luxury villas, boutique resorts, wellness retreats, island developments, beachfront hospitality projects and premium homes across tropical regions.
As a place visitors could enter and experience, TenuNYamaN made ViroFab’s proposition tangible: a building method focused on construction certainty, with space for the character and warmth that hospitality design demands.
