At the centre of Opulent Living 2025, titled Embarking on a Design Odyssey, the Atrium Lounge by Domisilium Studio emerges as a place of pause and presence. It is a social hub shaped not by grandeur but by warmth, rhythm, and togetherness. Designed under the theme “A Fleeting Haven", the lounge invites visitors to slow down, breathe, and be fully in the moment.
Soft curves and woven textures ripple through the space, accompanied by a palette of calm neutrals and deep sea tones inspired by the movement of ocean waves. Plush seating and thoughtfully curated accessories create a natural magnetism. Visitors linger, unwind, and connect with ease, responding instinctively to the lounge’s gentle ambiance and its fluid spatial composition.
During its development, Domisilium Studio shared a poem that guided the design process, an architectural meditation on space, stillness, and impermanence:
Set between journeys,
this space is neither departure nor arrival,
a threshold that breathes…
This poetic sensibility permeates the room. Shades of blue appear as quiet accents; textures shift with intention; surfaces invite a moment of pause. At the heart of the space stands one of Opulent Living’s defining features: a marble staircase crafted in collaboration with Prisma Marble.
Rendered in Blue Everest marble — a greyish-blue stone distinguished by its crystal-like patterns — the staircase rises with measured grace. Sculptural and grounding, it carries a subtle yet compelling sense of drama. During the Designers’ Walk, it became an unforgettable backdrop, reaffirming the Atrium Lounge as one of the exhibition’s most defining focal points.
Equally compelling is the Aritco home lift, envisioned as a symbolic meeting point where land meets sea. Inspired by the grand atriums of cruise ships, the lift connects the ground and upper deck with a sense of fluid elegance. Its woven textured flooring recalls the warmth of beach sand, complemented by custom artwork that echoes the movement of water illuminated by golden light. Beyond its functional purpose, the lift embodies Aritco’s deeper commitment to elevating the way we live through beauty, intuition, and thoughtful design.
Lighting plays a central role in the lounge’s serenity. Working with lighting specialists, the designers created an atmosphere shaped by warm, subtle illumination, with soft grazing, gentle highlights, and ambient glows that reveal texture and form without overwhelming the senses. This layered approach reinforces the lounge’s identity as a place of calm, a quiet breath within the larger exhibition.
Ultimately, the Atrium Lounge is a haven meant to be temporary yet meaningful. It is a threshold between experiences, a momentary place of rest, and a reminder that architecture can hold emotion as lightly as air.
