As part of its commitment to fostering creativity and innovation in interior design, KOHLER recently invited 15 renowned Indonesian interior designers and a prominent media personality on an inspiring journey to Shanghai, held from 26 to 29 May 2025. This exclusive program served as a vibrant platform for cultural exchange, collaboration, and inspiration among Indonesia’s leading design figures.
The esteemed participants included Adri Rahadian Hanafi of Anggara Architeam, Alexander Prawiro Bayusaputro of Genius Loci, Ario Sasongko Dewantoro of Blue Antz, Ariya Sradha of Tata Wastu Asia, Budiman Hendropurnomo of DCM, Candra Dermawan of Secatha Design, Christin Castillo of HBA Jakarta, Devy Anggraeny of Indesgin Domus, Doti Windajani of Quadratura Indonesia, Lianita Irzan Karim of Arkonin, Markus Sugiaman of Marka Abhirama, Mohammad Archica Danisworo of PDW, Prasetyo Condro Gumilar of Alien DC, Rudy Sofian of Trivium Design, William Patty of Hadiprana Design, and Lina Gan of Indonesia Design. Together, they explored Shanghai’s rich cultural heritage, architectural marvels, and dynamic urban landscape through a meticulously curated experience by KOHLER Indonesia.
The group enjoyed a luxurious stay at The Shanghai Edition, a prestigious hotel celebrated for its blend of contemporary elegance and timeless sophistication. Their Shanghai journey was complemented by an exceptional culinary experience at some of the city’s finest establishments, including Xuyan, Heavenly Jin, a Huangpu River Cruise dinner, and The Cook, The Meet, and The Brew. Each venue provided a taste of Shanghai's diverse culinary scene, ranging from traditional delicacies to contemporary gastronomic creations.
A key highlight was the visit to the Shanghai Kohler Electronics & Innovation Center, an interactive facility showcasing Kohler’s cutting-edge electronic and smart products. The immersive exhibition and automated factory tour allowed the designers to witness firsthand the precision and innovation behind products assembled by robotic arms, including bathroom fixtures enhanced with lighting and sound technologies.
The itinerary also included the 30th Kitchen & Bath China (KBC) 2025 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. As Asia’s most influential trade show for kitchen and bath design, KBC has showcased the latest trends in kitchen systems, sanitary equipment, and fittings since 1994. This year, the event welcomed over 115,000 professional visitors from around the globe across its 200,000-square-metre venue, providing the Indonesian designers with a front-row view of the future of the industry.
The journey culminated in the exclusive KOHLER Gala Soiree, a glamorous evening that brought together leading designers, industry leaders, and creative visionaries. The event featured captivating performances, engaging conversations, and a celebration of design excellence, creating unforgettable moments for all attendees.
As the driving force behind this transformative journey, KOHLER reaffirmed its commitment to advancing innovation within the design industry. This partnership with Indonesian designers underscores KOHLER’s dedication to empowering visionary creators and pushing the boundaries of design.
