For Opulent Living 2025, designer Janice Tjioe of Janice Tjioe interiors envisioned a room that honours both the softness and the quiet strength of womanhood. The result is The Ladies Lounge, a serene retreat where pastel tones bloom gently among grounded Earth hues, and where the richness of Indonesian flora inspires every curve, contour, and crafted detail.
At the centre of the space rests its most extraordinary feature. A breathtaking marble floor created by Orangemarble portrays the rare Rafflesia arnoldii. The motif is composed of fifty-nine different types of marbles, each piece carefully laser-cut and assembled with precision. More than a visual marvel, the customised pattern becomes the soul of the room, symbolising rarity, resilience, and the magnetic allure of femininity.
The botanical story continues along the walls. ZANTOB’s tropical flower-inspired fabric wallcovering introduces gentle texture, while an embossed feature wall finished in a pearlescent flower-textured coating by MASA Texture Paint adds sculptural presence. These elements form a harmonious backdrop that is further enriched by jewellery displays set on pastel-coloured marble pedestals thoughtfully designed to echo the feminine touch.
Throughout the exhibition, the room was animated by sculptural floral arrangements from BStudio Florals. Using protea, orchids, and bird of paradise, they brought a sense of living movement into the space, their bold forms mirroring the themes of strength and exuberant beauty woven throughout the lounge.
As the main display area for Adelle Jewellery, The Ladies Lounge became a place of discovery and intimacy. Guests were able to explore and try on exquisite pieces in an environment that felt personal and graceful. During Adelle’s two day trunk show, the room transformed into a warm and welcoming setting for private fittings and conversations.
Janice curated the furniture with an eye for organic forms and soft curves. From MOIE, she selected the Meridiani sofa, whose petal like shape adds quiet volume and gentle comfort. She also included a Promemoria armchair, a piece she personally admires. Its silhouette hints at the Victorian era origins of ladies lounges, once spaces where women in voluminous gowns found reprieve, yet its petal inspired backrest brings a distinctly contemporary sensibility that aligns with the room’s floral theme.
Pieces from Casa Italia add further depth and refinement. The Calligaris Rendezvous chair, whose silhouette subtly evokes a blooming flower, and the Gamma Arredamenti Planet coffee table, with lines suggestive of graceful flower stems, sit alongside the Bonaldo Obel mirror and LAGO Pleasure coffee table—each introducing additional layers of form, texture, and elegance. These pieces blend seamlessly into the palette of pastels and natural contours, contributing to a room that feels curated yet effortless. Even the wall lamp, whose shape resembles a flower when viewed up close, reflects Janice’s meticulous attention to detail and her ongoing dialogue with botanical inspiration.
Lighting plays a crucial role in shaping the ambiance. In collaboration with Erreluce and LELCO, the room features gentle cove illumination, soft wall grazing, and refined Lelco Connect accents that highlight textures, reveal subtle details, and cast a warm feminine glow throughout the space.
The realisation of Janice Tjioe’s vision was made possible through the support of Erka Interindo, Erreluce, Tropica Greeneries, Orangemarble, Casa Italia, Rangkai Indah, MOIE Living, Adelle Jewellery, Zantob Pelopor, LELCO Group, Qualitech Group, SIMU Indonesia, MASA Texture Paint, Ferro Aluminium, Daikin, Daikin Proshop Mitrawarga, Devialet, Jung Indo, Anoma Wood Division, and BStudio Florals.
Infused with botanical poetry, subtle Victorian nostalgia, and contemporary craftsmanship, The Ladies Lounge stands as a tribute to femininity, beauty, and the art of gathering in grace.
