HARRIS and POP! were two of the first ‘concept hotels’ in Indonesia. The man behind these hotels, and the founder of TAUZIA Hotel Management, is Frenchman Marc Steinmeyer. Before establishing TAUZIA this adventurous man had worked for one of the biggest hotel chains in the world, AccorHotels, for 30 years. During that time, the company built their first hotel in Indonesia (Ibis Hotel Slipi, Jakarta), and now has almost 100 hotels in this country. Over a cup of tea, Barbara Hahijary of Indonesia Design paid Marc a visit to talk about the four HARRIS hotels recently established in Java and TAUZIA’s brand new three-star hotel, YELLO Hotel Jemursari in Surabaya.
