Ligne Roset has been manufacturing its furniture by the Rhône River to preserve the French craft industry. All of the furniture is made in a vast workshop, where most operations are done by hand, requiring demanding craftsmanship to produce chairs and sofas. Two tapestry makers are responsible for training new apprentices, who learn the precise movements and necessary dexterity to ensure the quality of the products.
For many, observing the upholstering of a sofa is akin to watching a performance. The process involves minimal industrial procedures, with virtually all operations carried out manually. The exceptional virtuosity of each seamstress and upholsterer ensures unparalleled quality. Just by observing the sofa, one can recognise the distinct knack of each upholsterer’s hand, each possessing unique skills and personal styles.
The Roset Company practices an environmental philosophy rooted in simple good sense. “Sustainable development begins with the pleasure we derive from working in such a remarkable location in France. When one has the good fortune to grow and develop in an environment of such quality, one naturally wants to protect it,” said Pierre Roset, president of Ligne Roset. “As the company developed, we generated less and less pollution due to our vigilance.”
The brand features products with organic design that adapts to any space and lifestyle, making it a furniture brand without comparison. “We collaborate with designers from the past, present, and future to create timeless modern contemporary designs,” Pierre elaborated.
A Ligne Roset classic, Michel Ducaroy’s Togo, has represented the ultimate in comfort and style since 1973. The timeless collection features an ergonomic design with multi-density polyether foam construction and quilted covers, making each piece visually attractive and physically inviting. The Ploum sofa, designed
by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec in 2011, is the fruit of extensive research into comfort, resulting in a unique combination of a stretchable covering and ultra-soft foam.
Other iconic Ligne Roset products include the Bonnie seating by Pierre Paulin (1975), Circa, the elegant dining chair designed by Ligne Roset in 2014, and the barrel-shaped Ennéa dining table by Vincent Tordjman in 2017.
Rifyo Indonesia has been the proud carrier of the Ligne Roset brand since 2018, ensuring that Indonesian consumers can access these timeless designs. In August 2024, the brand is set to launch a much-anticipated showroom designed by Roland Adam, one of Indonesia’s renowned interior designers. This showroom will showcase Ligne Roset’s exquisite living room, dining room, and bedroom furniture, highlighting the brand’s dedication to elegance and style.
