ARCH:ID, Indonesia’s Most Awaited Architecture Forum & Trade Event, will be held for the fourth time on 22-25 February 2024 at ICE BSD City, Tangerang. The schedule and programme plans were announced in a press conference at Zoti Restaurant, Morrissey Hotel, Jakarta, on 15 August 2023.
ARCH:ID 2024 is organised by Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) and PT CIS Exhibition. This year, the annual event will be curated by architects Yacobus Gatot S Surarjo, Nelly L. Daniel and I Ketut Dirgantara. The curators have decided on the theme ”Placemaking: Toleransi”. Placemaking, which means the process of creating quality places that people want to live, work, play and learn in, is a movement that has gained a significant popularity in the world in the last two decades.
”We are inviting stakeholders including architects, city planners, government institutions as well as architectural and building product suppliers or producers to participate and discuss about planning inclusive pulic spaces. Such spaces are expected to encourage the emergence of new businesses, improve the people’s quality of life, and promote a healthier and more sustainable environment,” the curators explained.
Firman Herwanto, the program director of ARCH:ID 2024, stated that the event will house discussion forums for practitioners, academics, and producers, which might lead to collaboration opportunities. Sibarani Sofian, the chairman of Indonesian Institute of Urban Designers (IARKI), communicated that such collaboration is a must. “This is a national event. It should create a really big impact,” he added.
ARCH:ID 2024 programmes will include an exhibition where brands will collaborate with architects and other related parties, featured exhibition with specific themes, talkshows such as Talk Series and Obrolan Tuju Tuju, BIM Adoption 101, Best Booth Awards, and International Conference with speakers from various backgrounds, from architecture to sociology.
