Opulent Living 2025 set sail in celebratory spirit with an opening night that beautifully bridged the close of October and the beginning of an anticipated luxury cruise into November. Held one evening before the exhibition opened to the public, the celebration followed only a few hours after an engaging media preview, creating a seamless transition from press insight to festive anticipation.
Originally designed for five hundred guests, the RSVPs quickly swelled to around seven hundred, bringing together an eclectic and energetic mix of leading architects, interior designers, creative directors, brand principals, and design enthusiasts. The Warehouse on Level Five of Plaza Indonesia became the central gathering point, positioned directly before the escalator leading to the exhibition’s first scene.
Here, Lina Gan, founder and editor-in-chief of Indonesia Design, Harry Fatkan, Project Director of Opulent Living 2025 joined Plaza Indonesia’s deputy chief marketing officer, Zamri Mamat, to welcome guests and invite them to raise a celebratory toast. With that gesture, Opulent Living 2025 was officially launched as a landmark celebration of luxury architecture and interior design in Indonesia.
Guests were then invited to witness what Lina playfully referred to as the moment of truth. Ascending the escalator, they entered The Jetty, a dramatic installation designed by Cosmas Gozali. Golden columns, richly textured walls, and stained glass accents in the colours of sunshine and sea created a majestic and transportive threshold that set the tone for the journey ahead. The pathway opened into the Sun Deck by Helen Agustine, conceived as a contemporary interpretation of a cruise ship deck. The scene featured a sculptural whirlpool, a generous circular gathering space, and an inviting arrangement of armchairs and sofas.
Lina then led guests through all the rooms of Opulent Living 2025, each unveiling its own distinctive narrative of craftsmanship, innovation, and material exploration. As the tour concluded and evening transitioned into dinnertime, the celebration continued at OnFive at Grand Hyatt Jakarta.
Staying true to Lina’s longstanding philosophy, Indonesia Design celebration is defined by excellent food, flowing drinks, and a much anticipated lucky draw. This evening delivered all three
in abundance.
The night ended on a joyful note, with guests leaving inspired, energised, and many carrying home coveted prizes.
